About Smt. Sangeetha Ayyar

Sangeetha is the daughter and disciple of the late Sri Karaikudi S. Kannan, an All India Radio artist from Andhra Pradesh. She also had advanced lessons in Chennai from Smt Suguna Purushothaman and Smt Meera Nathan in India and from Smt Hemalatha Ganesan, Smt Chitra Krishnamurthy and Smt Uma Ayyar in Sydney. She has won prizes for music during her college days in India. Smt Sangeetha has performed extensively over the last fifteen years and had the opportunity to sing at the Asian Festival of Music and Dance at the Sydney Opera House and at the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra. Sangeetha has given concerts across Australia, in USA and during the Chennai music season. She has sung for many dance performances and has set the music for several dance items. She teaches music to a number of students in Western Sydney.
